I haven't been paying much attention to my fronts of late as they are in a low tank with no lighting but I noticed there had been a spawn on Christmas Eve - not sure when it happened but the male and 1 female were holding. Last night I decided to strip them but I was too late with the female - none left. The male still had a significant bulge however so I stripped him and to my surprise had 14 wrigglers from him (about 6 days old I would say) and no bad eggs at all. I've only ever had 2-3 fertile eggs from the male before, most are normally unfertilized so this was unexpected. I can't help wondering how long he would have held them for had I left him.
How unusual is this - has any one else had wrigglers from a male before?
